How to design a good looking slide

Most people think that to be able to design good slides, you have to have that "creative thing”. Well, we are here to tell you that while having a feel for design will help you, effective slide design can be brought back to a science. Enter neuroaesthetics.

Don't be afraid of that big word. All that means is that there is a field in neuroscience that focuses on how our brains interact and respond to beauty, art, and design.

This is great news for us as this means that there are fool-proof principles that you can use to make more aesthetic slides. Next we will show you an overview of these principles and how they tie in with effective slide design.

This table should give you a clear overview of how the principles of neuroaesthetics can be used for effective slide design. Keep in mind that this is just the surface, these tools are great to get you started on the right foot and start experimenting within the defined rules of design.

In future posts we will delve deeper into these rules and get you to understand why they are so important. For now, have a look and more importantly try to keep this table in mind for the next time you fire up Powerpoint.
